The History of OCB Rolling Papers

OCB Rolling Papers are known for their quality, slow-burning smoke, and thin French design. These papers are popular online and in stores. OCB offers smokers a range of product options. In this guide, we’ll go over everything you could ever want to know about OCB papers!

The Early Origins of OCB Rolling Papers

Historically, the OCB company has roots that stretch back in time over 100 years! It all started near the banks of the Odet River in France. There, sat the first-ever factory used by the founders of the OCB company.

Within a larger paper mill, this original factory was part of a letter making company. The letter company was owned by Nicolas Le Marie, Guillaume Claude Bollare, and Rene Corentin Balloon. At the time, the factory manufactured both copy paper and rolling papers.

Later in 1893, a second factory was opened in Scaer, France. In this second factory, rolling papers became a higher priority. Before long, the founders began focusing more on cigarette rolling papers than any of their other projects. The first official OCB papers were made in 1918.

History and Evolution of OCB Papers

Over the course of the next 15 years, the OCB company would go on to craft over 86 million packs of papers. Between the two mills, the company was able to triple its production. Soon, they were shipping their products to other countries, including the United States.

In the 1930s, the Nazis took over France. When this occurred, production dropped significantly and the company was unable to export its papers. Luckily, OCB was able to set up a new mill in the United States.

    OCB Expands and Changes Ownership

In the coming decades, OCB would go on to expand and export their papers internationally. In fact, by 1953, one in every five cigarettes in the world consisted of OCB brand paper. By the year 1981, Vincent Ballore became the OCB company owner.

Eventually, OCB papers were acquired by none other than Don Levin of the American Republic Tobacco Group. Levin has been the company’s biggest customer for over 40 years! Today, the American Republic Tobacco Group still owns OCB as a brand.

    The OCB Brand Today

These days, OCB sells their rolling papers all around the world. A favorite in the United States and Europe, many of these rolling papers are still made in France. In addition to this, OCB papers have a big presence on social media.

On Facebook, OCB papers have over 260k likes. This truly speaks to their fan base and user satisfaction. Made with high-quality materials, these papers are carefully crafted to be superior. As such, they’re a great rolling accessory to have on-demand.

    Buying OCB Rolling Papers

There are many great rolling paper options available from the OCB brand. For instance, you can choose from Premium, White, Ultimate, Orange, and more. Differing in material composition, size, flavor, and appearance, there’s a pack of OCB papers for everyone to love!
