Immensa Technology Labs was the first organization to receive the KSA’s Ministry of Investments’ addictive manufacturing license in Saudi Arabia. In April of 2021, the company, which is recognized as a leading additive manufacturing company, also known as 3D printing, received the very first such license from the government. The government took this step as a way to help localize the advancing of manufacturing technologies like this, thanks to the growth and demand of Industry 4.0 that utilizes industrial 3D printing.

Now, the company continues to utilize its skill and advanced technologies to change the way manufacturing occurs. Take a closer look at Immensa and the work it is doing to change the industry.

    Who Is Immensa Technology Labs?

The company is a Saudi Arabia-based 3D printing startup that initially raised a Series A funding round worth $7 million led by Energy Capital Group, AI Turki Ventures, and other investors. The company isn’t new, though, having been established in 2016 to provide a digital inventory solution for the utility and energy sectors. To reach its success, the company has focused on the use of machine learning and data digitization but also incorporated the use of industrial 3D printing, one of the most innovative solutions for the industry today.

    Why Addictive Manufacturing Matters

Additive manufacturing may be well-known as 3D printing, but this emerging technology is offering industrial organizations some core benefits, and those benefits are helping companies to create more with less.

The process involves the creation of an object using technology that builds one layer at a time. Consider subtractive manufacturing as the opposite. In this method, the raw material has the material cut away from it to create the desired finished piece. In additive manufacturing, the object is built one layer at a time. That’s not new, but what is the value it brings to manufacturing organizations today?

The supply chain is simplified, and that means the work can be done in a much shorter amount of time. That allows for a product to get from idea to production in a far shorter amount of time. That’s thanks to the removal of numerous intermediate steps in the development process.

Shorter time frames also mean higher production opportunities, and that increases the ability to sell products sooner. In many situations, this method allows organizations to use materials more efficiently, work faster, and produce an exceptional finished product in a shorter amount of time.

How Immensa Is Disrupting the Industry

What Immensa does well is to use this type of technology to take physical spare parts and then dematerialize them. This allows them to become digital, on-demand materials capable of being used to meet current needs in an efficient manner.

The result is that the company is able to transform the supply chain for spare parts on a global scale. With this method, it is possible for companies to have the spare parts they need in a more sustainable and efficient manner. That’s because they can move to digital warehousing, eliminating many of the costs and struggles along the way.

The organization has used its additive manufacturing solutions in many ways and in various industries, including the oil and gas industry. It maintains numerous ISO certifications, including for Quality, Oil & Gas, Environment, and Health & Safety, allowing it to continue to meet the needs of a range of organizations.

Fahmi Al Shawwar, the Founder and CEO of Immensa, shares, “Over $65 billion of spare parts in the energy and utility sectors will be sourced annually via digital supply chain by 2030. That is an opportunity we are grasping early on, and investors are seeing the value of partnering with a leader in this underserved market. Immensa will grow its business while also helping to create a new range of industries and forge new career paths for Saudi nationals.”
